TMD or temporomandibular disorder results in discomfort from teeth grinding, overuse of muscles, strenuous physical activities and stressful situations. Your temporomandibular joint or TMJ which allows the jaw to open and close and move in order to chew causes TMD because the temporomandibular joint is not working properly.
When your TMJ is out of sync, it can cause headaches, injured soft tissue, sensitive teeth, muscle soreness or jaw discomfort. You might also have trouble opening and closing your mouth or your jaw locking up when talking or yawning.
If you suffer from TMD, let one of our staff can go over the TMJ treatment options with you and come up with a plan to rid you of your jaw pain.
